What it fixes

1. Spotlight misses files, and searching inside a folder searches the whole Mac.

   Search that finds everything

   Fastfind indexes your disk itself and keeps the index current as files change. Results appear as you type, start in the current folder, show where each file lives, and tolerate a typo.

2. No Up button, and no path you can type into.

   Always know where you are

   Back, Forward and Up stay in the toolbar. Click any part of the path, or type a path — a partial folder name jumps to the closest match.

3. Copying a folder onto one with the same name replaces it.

   Merge instead of overwrite

   When names collide, choose Merge, Replace, Keep Both or Skip, and apply it to the rest. Cut and paste with ⌘X and ⌘V, and undo any file operation.

4. Folder sizes and item counts are nowhere to be seen.

   Sizes at a glance

   Folder sizes come straight from the index, so they show up in the list immediately. The status bar shows item count, selection size and free space.

5. View settings are forgotten, and hidden files need a terminal command.

   Views that stay put

   Each folder remembers its view and sort order without writing .DS_Store files. Hidden files are one toolbar switch away.
